Ahoy, Janice!
Thank you for coming to visit us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel to ask your questions about your upcoming sailing on Disney Cruise Line.
Included in your cruise fare are all soft drinks. There are drink stations located near the pools on all of the ships. You can drink as much of this as you care to. I will suggest, however, that you bring larger drink cups or bottles. The cups on the pool deck are small. You will need to use the disposable paper cups to fill your own larger ones.
As far as alcohol, I have found that Disney Cruise Line drinks are very reasonably priced. The DCL alcohol policy allows up to two bottles of wine or six beers to be brought onboard by each passenger that is over the age of 21. This is great, especially if you have wines that are your favorites. Please be aware that if you choose to drink your own wine in the main dining rooms, they will charge a $20 corkage fee.
When I take a Disney Cruise Line vacation, I purchase a Disney gift card (or 2) to use for our drinks onboard. I can bring my gift card to the Guest Services desk and have it loaded onto my shipboard account. At any time, I can visit Guest Services to see how much I have spent. Then, I am not locked into a package, as I like to partake in different beverages each day. I also bring my own wine to enjoy in my stateroom. It is lovely to sit on our verandah and enjoy the ocean going by with a glass of wine. The stateroom host/hostess will be happy to bring wine glasses and even a corkscrew to your stateroom.
If you are truly concerned, and it makes sense for you to pre-purchase a
beverage package, you can do it either before you board the ship or once you are on your Disney Cruise Line vacation.
I hope you have a MAGICal cruise! Please visit us again if you have more questions before you set sail.
Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
