Welcome aboard, Toni!
I love sailing with my whole family, but sometimes, I have taken my kids individually on a Mommy and Me sailing with Disney Cruise Line, so I can tell you that you and your little one will have a magical adventure on this cruise!
In
Nassau, if you don't choose one of Disney Cruise Line's fabulous
Port Adventures, you are welcome to leave the ship on your own to explore. Just outside the port area, there are a few streets with lots of shopping and local dining. In the same area, just a few blocks down is the Straw Market where you can browse local creations from vendors who are always willing to make a good deal for you. Just let your child know ahead of time that there will be lots of vendors calling out to you to come view their booths, which for a child unaware, may be intimidating at first, as it was for my kids, but then they got used to it and we had fun shopping the Straw Market! That's about it close by that you and your son or daughter can do, but just browsing that are of the island is a great way to spend a few hours before heading back to the ship. Once back onboard, you can take advantage of the lower crowds onboard (since most guests will be out on Port Adventures), to enjoy the pool deck and the
AquaDuck over and over with little wait! That's what my kids like to do in Nassau when we get back on the ship early!
Have such a great time planning, and please stop back again with any other questions. We're happy to help!
