Hey, Joyce! Thanks for POPping in with your question!
Disney's Pop Century Resort is one of my favorite Disney Resort Hotels. In fact, I am headed there today! There are so many reasons I frequently choose to stay there, but I am most excited about the new
Disney Skyliner access available at that resort! I was able to ride it recently and found it to be a great option for traveling between Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot.
You are welcome to
call into the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations line and ask a Cast Member to put a request on your room reservation that you would like a lake view room placement. If it can be accommodated, the room assignors do certainly try to do so! Normally, the rooms facing Hourglass Lake are rooms that were booked under the standard view category. However, you never know what pixie dust may find you, so it never hurts to at least ask!
Personally, I prefer a lake facing room and usually note that in my room request. It just seems a bit quieter in the back part of the resort and the view is great (you may just wind up looking across to a sea witch!). In my experience, I have been placed in a lake view room when booking a preferred location, but just note that this kind of negates the "preferred location" part of your booking. Also, a room request is simply that and cannot be guaranteed. If you would like a better shot at getting this room placement, then I recommend you look for a standard view category room.
I hope this helps plan a POP-tastic stay! Please let us know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan your magical adventures!
