Welcome aboard, Michelle! From one Ohio mom to another, I'm excited for your family to set sail with Disney Cruise Line, and I love that you asked about tracking your pre-teen because I have one two of my own that I try to keep track of! I remember when they were little, thinking how it would be easier when they get older, but now that they're older, it just brings about a different kind of challenge, doesn't it? I love my tween and teen though and they love sailing with Disney!
While there aren't trackers per se, if your son has his own mobile phone or iPod, you can both download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App to keep in touch onboard. Through this app, you'll not only access the ship's schedule of events, maps, hours of venues, and more, but you'll have free onboard texting with fun Disney emoji to use too! Since tweens in
Edge can come and go from the club without a parent checking them in and out, it's nice to be able to keep track of where my kids are. My daughter knows that she cannot leave the clubs without texting me where she is going and with whom. Usually after the first day or so, she's made new friends and they meet up in Edge, the tween club then when their favorite activity there ends, they head out for more fun around the ship or to get soft serve ice cream at
Eye Scream Treats. I'm afraid to imagine how many ice cream cones she devours when it's free soft serve all day and night onboard! But, it's vacation, so it's allowed, and I love that we can keep in instant contact with each other.
I hope that helps as you and your tween son get ready for this big adventure at sea, Michelle!
