Hi-5 ppl all over 15 going to HS Sunday Dec 22 or Monday 23rd. Which day would you go? Star Wars focus. Should I purchase entry tickets now then try for lightning lane 3 days prior? or do all 3 days before? Thanks.

Hi Marcia, I'm happy to wish you Bright Suns and an stellar welcome to planDisney from this part of the galaxy!

I've personally experienced what it's like to navigate these very popular times of the year and in many ways it's not unlike making the Kessel Run as you weave around each destination - and I personally think that it's especially handy that you won't have any small children in your party to slow you down! Here's a bit of intergalactic insight right from Black Spire Outpost along with my suggestions on making the most of your next Star Wars adventures here:

    • Between both of these popular days, my recommendation is to go on Monday, December 23, 2024 purely based on predictable guest behavior over the past few weekends in December. (For example, since December 21 is this year's final evening of Disney Jollywood Nights, many guests would choose not to head to Disney's Hollywood Studios that day due to its earlier closing time for day guests without a special event ticket, and would be more likely to defer their visit to their next available day.) In addition, weekends in December often bring a massive wave of local Floridians and Annual Passholders (who aren't blocked out) out of school over the holidays who come for the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays which could spill over into a busier time at Disney's Hollywood Studios if they have the ability to easily hop over.
    • I highly recommend purchasing your tickets sooner than later and familiarizing yourselves with the My Disney Experience app so you can already have your tickets linked to your accounts before trying your very best to secure Lightning Lane Passes and select those attraction experiences 3 days in advance. It's important to remember that because this is such a sought-after time of the year to visit, all of those Disney Resort Hotel guests will have had the ability to book these 7 days ahead of the first day of their stay so be prepared in the event that any remaining availability is very limited (and at the time of writing, if you're not ready to book these at 7:00 A.M. Eastern as soon as you're eligible, many of these will have been snatched up in seconds).
    • A very key detail to note is that Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is a separate Lightning Lane Single Pass purchase while Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is one of the many multi pass experiences with the Lightning Lane Multi Pass so you're currently required to purchase both if you want to be able to skip the standby lines at both attractions.
Part of the risk of heading to the theme parks at this time of the year are the inevitably longer waits, so I'm hoping you'll be able to snag the Lightning Lane Passes you're looking for. Since you don't have any younger space travelers in your party, my best advice is to aim to have your Star Wars experiences during the showtimes of Fantasmic! and as late at night as possible for lower waits!
