Hi, is it possible to stay at a Disney Hotel.without purchasing tickets to the parks? Thank you so much.

    Hi Lauren,

Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with your question about planning a vacation at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel.

I'm happy to tell you that you are welcome to book a room-only stay at any of the Walt Disney World resorts whether or not you spend time in the four theme parks. As much as my family loves our days at Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, we also adore a Disney visit that involves simply lounging by the pool, resort-hopping for shopping and dining, and taking in all the stores, restaurants and entertainment at Disney Springs.

In fact, we spend each Christmas at Walt Disney World without visiting a single theme park.

If we know we're not going to the parks on a visit, we choose our resort based on what we most want to do during our stay. If it's active pool time you're after, you can't beat the Beach Club Resort and it's Stormalong Bay pool. For quiet seclusion with a view of the African savanna, we love Animal Kingdom Lodge (which also has some of our favorite restaurants).

Easy access to Disney Springs a must? Then we look at one of the resorts that has boat service to Disney Springs: Port Orleans Resort -- Riverside, Port Orleans Resort -- French Quarter, Old Key West or Saratoga Springs

Whatever your mood, I'm sure there's a Disney Resorts Collection hotel that will be practically perfect in every way for your family's visit.

Happy planning, Lauren, and please check back again if you have other questions or want recommendations for dining, recreation or events.

    Enjoy,

    Wilma
