Is it possible to request my family (party of five) dine alone at a table and not with other families? My son has autism and does not always interact well with strangers. If so, how do I do this? We have first seating.

Welcome aboard, Debra! Your sailing with Disney Cruise Line is just a couple months away! I'm excited for your family!

You can certainly request a private table for your family during your rotational dining each night, yes! Simply give the agents at Disney Cruise Line a call at 800-951-3532 with your reservation number, and they can enter that request for you.

You mentioned that your son doesn't always interact well with strangers. You'll be happy to learn more about the rotational dining that Disney offers, then, because I think it will make a big difference in your son's enjoyment of his dining experience each night. My favorite part of rotational dining is that guests are assigned a team of dining servers that work with their family each night, meeting them in the different restaurants. Your family will get to know these servers, and they'll get to know each of you and your preferences. When we sail, our dining servers become like part of the family, and it's hard to say goodbye on that last morning!

We check in with our servers at the end of dinner each night to see where they'll be assigned for breakfast and lunch the next day, and we try to pop into those restaurants to sit at their tables then too. Your son may really enjoy that as well, as he will hopefully begin to feel comfortable with the same dining servers each time he eats.

I hope those details help as you continue planning your cruise, Debra! Have a magical vacation!
