Howdy, Lauren, and welcome to planDisney! Your upcoming visit is sure to be full of hearts and flowers since Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Let's open up a package of chocolate hearts and talk about pre-ordering MagicBands.
Guests staying at Disney Resort Hotels can pre-order their MagicBand+ up to 11 days before they arrive to have it delivered to their home address. If you miss that deadline, Hakuna Matata! You can still order one within 10-6 days before you check in; your band will be waiting at the Front Desk of your resort.
I want to let you know that bands are no longer discounted for resort guests or Annual Passholders, so you'll typically pay the same price whether you pre-order or wait until you're on property. Most retail locations sell a variety of MagicBand designs, so the selection might be better if you wait. I also recommend double-checking online pricing for future stays, as special offers and promotions can drop at any time. The
online Disney Store currently has a limited-time discount if you order two bands, for example.
The
advantage of pre-ordering your band is that you get free shipping and personalization. I like to personalize with my initials and the year so I'll know when I got each band. I may or may not have several bands to match different outfits! Another advantage is that pre-ordered bands are linked to your My Disney Experience account; bands you purchase yourself must be
linked manually.
One tip is that the solid-color MagicBand+ is usually a bit cheaper and has the
exact features of bands with designs. I have a gray MagicBand+ that I love because it goes with everything. I see navy, turquoise, pink, and many other solid options online, and they're about $10 less than the other designs (pricing subject to change). To me, that means I'll have more money to spend on
Mickey Pretzels!
