Is it possible for an older child (i.e. age 10+) to order a meal from the child's menu? I am asking apart from the dining plan - just simply, does Disney care if an older child pays directly for a children's meal or is it limited by age.

    Hi there Mandi,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  When planning a Walt Disney World vacation, my favorite step in the process is choosing which restaurants we will get to dine at during our trip. Although it is up to the discretion of each restaurant, I have always found our servers to be very accommodating with dining requests.

When dining at all-you-care-to-enjoy restaurants, children over the age of 9 will be charged as an adult. At dining locations with an à la carte menu, my children have been allowed to order a kids' menu item even though they were over the age of 9. If your child has a hearty appetite, but prefers to order a kids' menu item, ask your server if they can make an adult-sized portion of that meal.

I hope this information is helpful to you. Please don't hesitate to stop by again if you would like any dining recommendations or have any additional questions. Best wishes for a magical trip, Mandi!

    Bon Appétit,
    Jodie
