Hiya Jana,
Welcome back to planDisney! I love that at Walt Disney World Resort, you can get a meal worthy of any pitmaster award. From the delicious baked macaroni and cheese with pulled pork at
Flame Tree Barbecue to Buttercup’s Beef Brisket at
Roundup Rodeo BBQ. Walt Disney World Resort has the most amazing smoked meats!
Another thing that the Most Magical Place on Earth does well is accommodate special dietary concerns. I scoured as many different sources as I could and spoke to a couple of Cast Members and, unfortunately, was not able to come up with a concrete list for you of the types of woods used to smoke meats at the different dining locations. There were some reports that Flame Tree BBQ may utilize pecan and oak wood, and the official website for
Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts and Barbecue also mentions oak wood, but I’m sure this is dependent upon availability. Since we are talking about an allergy concern, I want to err on the side of caution and recommend that you reach out to a Cast Member on the Special Diets team at
Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com. They will be able to provide you with a Special Dietary Request Form, which will give you the information you need to dine free from allergy at Walt Disney World Resort.
I wish I had a list to share with you, Jana, but I know the Special Diets team will be able to assist you. The dining at Walt Disney World is the very best, and you deserve to enjoy it with as much Hakuna Matata as possible. Please come back and see us if you need anything else.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
