Welcome back, Amanda! I am sad to hear that you're thinking of canceling your cruise if you cannot get the
Main Dining seating.
When our kids were younger, we thought that late seating would be too late. However, we quickly found out that after a fun day onboard or in port, everybody wanted a nap in the late afternoon. That then allowed us to rest, get showered, and then see the first production of that night's Broadway-style show, while the other guests were dining. We'd grab snacks from room service or at the quick service spots on the pool deck to fend off any hunger and then head to our later seating when it was time. The best part about the late dining is that only during that seating do they offer Dine n' Play. Children's orders are taken first, and then about 45 minutes to an hour into the seating, counselors from the
Youth Clubs come to each restaurant to pick up any kids who'd like to go play in the clubs. Meanwhile, Mom and Dad get to enjoy the rest of their dinner alone while the kids are off having the time of their lives! My kids love this, and my husband and I enjoy that we get the best of both worlds: family time and couples alone time!
If after you call Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 there still isn't space in Main Dining and you do really want to move, you have another option. Once you arrive at port, you'll receive your first Personal Navigator. This schedule of events includes a note on the first page with details about where to meet Dining Managers that first afternoon as you board to request dining changes. Swing by as they may be able to help you.
Please don't cancel what will be a magical trip just because of a dining time. I promise you'll enjoy the meal no matter when you dine, Amanda! Stop by with any other questions!
