Hi Darren! Welcome to planDisney. I’m happy to help you map out the best way to navigate your arrival to the Disneyland Resort so your day can start off on the right foot.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a pedestrian entrance on the north side of the
Mickey and Friends parking structure. If you’re walking in, you’ll want to plan to approach from the south side along Disneyland Drive. Once you’re on Disneyland Drive, head toward the intersection at Magic Way. From there, turn right using the crosswalk and follow the sidewalk toward the pedestrian entrance of the structure. At that point, you’ll take the stairs or escalator up to the pedestrian bridge, cross over, and then take the escalators down to the main level near the security screening area. After clearing security, you’ll board the tram route or continue walking toward the Esplanade. Before you know it, you’ll be stepping onto
Main Street, U.S.A. or
Buena Vista Street, ready to kick off your day.
If you’re coming from the north side of the resort area (for example, near Ball Road), this route can add a bit of extra walking. In that case, a ride-share option like Uber or Lyft can be a really helpful alternative. When you select the
Disneyland Resort main entrance as your destination, you’ll typically be dropped off along Harbor Boulevard near the main transportation area. From there, it’s a short and straightforward walk to the Esplanade between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, putting you just steps away from the entrances to both parks.
As a helpful planning tip, consider your arrival timing. If you’re aiming to start your day with popular attractions like
Indiana Jones Adventure in Disneyland or
Radiator Springs Racers in Disney California Adventure, arriving a bit ahead of park opening can make a noticeable difference. That early window often comes with lighter crowds and a smoother entry experience.
Darren, I hope this helps you feel confident as you plan your route in. With a little advance planning, you’ll be setting yourself up for a smooth arrival and a great start to your Disneyland day. If you need any other planning tips prior to your visit, please visit us here again at planDisney!
Wishing you an easy walk in and a fantastic day exploring all that Disneyland Resort has to offer,
