Is it possible to change reservation and ticket date to an earlier date if it shows availability when attempting to purchase but shows blocked under modify reservations?

    Hi there, Isbeth!

Welcome to planDisney! I hear you're trying to plan a visit to the Disneyland Resort. I'd be happy to help answer any questions about tickets and reservations that you might have. As we round out the end of the year, the Happiest Place on Earth is currently celebrating the Holiday Season and it's one of the most beautiful times to visit. Everything looks so festive and you'll be in the spirit of the Season in no time at all!

I don't have access to your account, so I can't see what type of tickets you have, Isbeth. Ordinarily, guests are free to change their reservations to an earlier or later date as long as there is availability and the tickets are not yet expired. There are some caveats to remember, however:

    • If you purchased a single day ticket, these are tiered such that certain dates might be blocked out for lower level tiers. You might be trying to book a higher tier reservation date than the ticket which you have.
    • If you have a Multi-Day Ticket, all visits must be made within a two week window. If you are attempting to book a date outside of this window, the system will not allow you to make that reservation.
    • Special Promotional Tickets such as the Kids' Special Ticket Offer are only valid for certain dates (in this case, from January 8 to March 10, 2024). If you are using these tickets, make sure that you are within this window.
    • Are you sure that you don't already have a reservation under that date? This will make it seem like the date is blocked when you attempt to "Modify Reservation" because you can't hold two for the same day.

If these do not apply to you and you still find that you are unable to change your reservation, please call Ticket Guest Services and a friendly Cast Member should be able to get to the bottom of your issue.

Isbeth, I wish you the best as you try to navigate through this and I hope that you are able to visit the Disneyland Resort this year to witness the Disney100 Celebration! If you have any further questions, please feel free to write to us again anytime! You're always welcome at planDisney! Until next time!

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
