Hi Bridget,
Thank you for stopping by planDisney, I am happy to help you with your upcoming Magical vacation plans!
You have a very good question about how to reserve
Disney Resort hotel accommodations without having to purchase tickets for everyone who will be staying in the room. I have experienced the same situation when I vacationed with some friends in which some friends had Annual Passes and some of us needed to purchase theme park tickets. My recommendation is to purchase these items individually and not to book a Disney Vacation Package. A Disney Vacation Package includes Disney Resort hotel reservations and Disney theme park tickets. However, when you book a Disney Vacation Package the tickets must be the same for everyone listed in the reservation.
While a Disney Vacation Package makes sense in many circumstances, it sounds like you will be best served by making a separate room-only
Disney Resort hotel reservation. You may do this online by clicking the previous link or by calling the number listed in this link for
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations. After you have made your Disney Resort hotel reservations, you can purchase
Disney Theme Park Tickets for those in your party who need them. After you have made your room-only Disney Resort hotel reservation and ticket purchases, be sure to log into your
My Disney Experience account and link both your Disney Resort hotel reservation and your theme park tickets with this
Walt Disney World Resort Linking Tool.
Bridget, after you have purchased and linked your tickets to your My Disney Experience account, I encourage you to make
Disney Theme Park Reservations as early as possible to ensure you will be able to visit the theme parks on the days you will be visiting. Here is a link to the
Disney Theme Park Availability Calendar to see which parks are available for your trip.
Have a Magical vacation! Please be sure to visit us again here at planDisney with all your Disney vacation planning questions.
See Ya Real Soon,
Brenda
