Hello there German,
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for bringing us your fun planning question today. The only thing better than
staying at a Disney World resort... is staying at three of them! I love your vacationing style, and idea to mix up your tickets, dining, and resort plans during your stay. Sounds like quite a magical adventure!
To answer your question, you could book the combination you described with one small modification: during your "first leg" (3 nights at Pop Century) you would need to include at least a two-day park ticket. Here's why.
There are two types of resort reservations you can make at Walt Disney World:
- Room only - This is the type of reservation you'd make for your "second leg" at Port Orleans. It's for your Disney hotel only. No park tickets required. No Dining Plan option offered.
- Vacation Package - A vacation package includes a Disney resort room and a minimum of 2-day theme park tickets. You need to purchase a vacation package in order to include a Disney Dining Plan.
One work around option is to not include any Quick Service Dining Plan during your "first leg" and instead just book a room-only reservation, and
separately purchase a 1 day theme park ticket. Although it's awfully nice to start off your vacation with that resort-refillable mug, which is included with the dining plan!
You can't go wrong with your amazing plan to experience multiple Disney Resorts during your magical stay. I really enjoy each of the resorts you mentioned... excellent choices! However, Animal Kingdom Lodge in particular has my family's heart. The immersive African theming and watching live animals on the savannah makes this unlike any other experience. It's such a gem! And if do decide to stay here, be sure to make advance dining reservations for one evening at the
delicious buffet restaurant Boma.
If you are considering
visiting Disney World in 2025, let me tell you there's a whole lot of pixie-dusted "can't miss" experiences in store for this year! Including a splashtastic deal granting all guests staying at a Disney Resort FREE admission to a water park on their arrival day.
I hope this helps you with some of your Disney reservation details, German. Please
visit me again at planDisney if I can provide any other answers or recommendations for your wonderful vacation!
Have a magical day,
Tami
