Is there a possibility to choose another area at Disney for someone to propose for example just before entering a ride?

    Hey there, Marjorie!

Welcome to planDisney and is that love I sense in the air? If you're contemplating proposing to your partner, then it must be! Thanks for bringing your question to us here at planDisney and let's go over some of your options.

I have seen several proposals while visiting the Disneyland Resort and I even proposed many decades ago in Disneyland Park! There are no set rules dictating where you are allowed to propose to your significant other while on property. As long as you are in a public Guest area and you are not negatively impacting other Guests' experience, you are free to propose where you would like. Think about whether you would like it to be a more private experience without any spectators or would you like to be surrounded by others sharing in your joy? Of course, the classic and most popular spot is right in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle but here are a few other options to consider:

    • Snow White Grotto, just to the right of the Castle. It's a semi-secluded spot within view of the Castle and very romantic with the Wishing Well right there.
    • On board the Storybook Land Canal Boats. This is where I proposed many years ago. It's especially romantic at night as you pass underneath the bridge.
    • Wherever you are when the Fireworks at Disneyland Park are going off in the skies above your head! How much more epic can you get than that?!
    • Recruit a Disney Character to assist you with your proposal during a Meet & Greet! Perhaps have a little note card or whisper to the Cast Member handler (and Disney PhotoPass photographer if present!) that you're about to propose so they're ready!

Those are just a few suggestions to give you a jump start on brainstorming. If you want to pull out all the stops, I'd recommend getting in touch with the experts at Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons. If you ever want to feel like Disney Royalty, they'll set you up!

Marjorie, I hope this information was helpful and I wish you the best of luck in your planning. Please let us know if we can assist you further! Proposals are always so exciting! We'd love to hear from you again and we'll see ya real soon.

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
