Travis,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
There are a couple of ways to get from your resort to breakfast at the Riviera using Disney Transportation. Let's take a look at two options.
Option 1: The quasi-official recommendation is that you take a bus from
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside to
Disney Springs. Once there you transfer to another bus that will take you to
Disney's Riviera Resort. If you do this you can account for a 15-minute ride, followed by a 10-minute ride. But of course, you will have two times along the way where you will be waiting for a bus to arrive, which can take up to 20 minutes each. I would suggest planning at least an hour for the entire journey.
Option 2: An alternative, and possibly more enjoyable route would be to take a bus to
Disney's Hollywood Studios. After that you hop on the
Disney Skyliner to the Riviera. Yes, that means 1 bus ride and then 2 Skyliner rides (you switch Skyliners routes at
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort), but the Skyliner runs constantly, so there is no waiting for your ride to arrive. You would have a 25-minute bus ride followed by two Skyliner rides that total about 11 minutes. With the reduced wait times, you should be under an hour.
IMPORTANT TIPIn the morning the operating hours of both bus and Skyliner transportation vary based on park opening times. You will want to check with your resort desk for operating times the day before, so that you can pick which of these two options will best match your needs.
BOTTOM LINEIf all the transportation options are open to you, I recommend the combination of the bus and the Disney Skyliner. First off, the Skyliner is fun to ride, with great views of Walt Disney World. The almost guaranteed time savings that you get from not waiting as much on buses to arrive is likely to shorten your travel time. But in both cases, schedule at least an hour for travel, to be safe. Besides, the Riviera is a fun resort to explore before breakfast if you arrive early.
Have a Magical Vacation!
