Port orleans fq or Caribbean beach for family of 4.....2 adults, 11 and 13 year old? Any opinions to help appreciated. Stayed at POFQ before. Worried CB will stop daughters having a little independence.

    Hi there Janet!

Choosing a resort is one of the biggest decisions my family makes when planning a Walt Disney World vacation! Both of the resorts that you are considering offer unique theming and fun recreational activities, so I can completely understand the difficulty in choosing between the two. Having previously stayed at both resorts, I would personally recommend Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter for your family of four.

As you may already know, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is the smallest of the Disney Moderate Resort hotels and offers a quaint atmosphere. By staying at this resort location, you will be able to use the recreational activities and amenities at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside (its sister property) and easily travel to the Downtown Disney area via the Sassagoula River Cruise. Although I loved the tropical theming at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, I did find the property to be very large and quite difficult to walk from our room location in Jamaica to the main areas of the resort. Because we had our own car, we usually drove to the Old Port Royale Food Court and other common areas. Based on the ages of your daughters, you may also want to consider booking a Royal Guest Room at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, which I highly recommend from my own personal experience.

Although I don't think you can go wrong with either of these beautiful resorts, I hope that this information helps in making the best decision for your family. Please don't hesitate to stop by again with any additional questions that you may have. Best wishes for a magical trip, Janet!

    Happy Planning,
    Jodie
