Ahoy there James, and welcome to planDisney! I'm glad you are thinking about ground transportation early because we don’t have time to mess around! I know you want to kick your Disney Cruise Line vacation off right because it's getting closer and closer every day.
Because Disney Cruise Line-provided
airport transfers are only available on the day of embarkation, you will need to arrange for private transportation if you arrive in
Fort Lauderdale ahead of your sail date. The Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina, one of Disney Cruise Line's pre and post-cruise hotels, is about 5 miles from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Unfortunately, this Hilton does not provide an airport shuttle, but Lyft and Uber are authorized to operate in the airport. There are also taxis. After April 2024, private ground transfers will be available for purchase from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to Port Everglades if you decide to fly in the morning of embarkation.
I checked in with
Disney Cruise Line to get the best answer concerning transportation from the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina to Port Everglades on the morning of embarkation. Disney Cruise Line does provide transfers from this Hilton to Port Everglades for $21 per Guest ages 3 and older (subject to change). If you booked directly with Disney Cruise Line, you can contact them directly to reserve this transfer, but if you booked with a Travel Agent, you will need to arrange the transfer with him or her. I suggest you book the transfers early because space is limited.
James, I know your cruise seems far away, but you are almost there! I am wishing on the evening star for you to have a magical cruise. If you think of any other questions, sail back to see me here on
planDisney.
Happy sailing,
JoVonn
