Hi! The port adventures in Tortola and St. Thomas are just too far out of budget, especially when you add the cost of the cruise. How to get to the beach in both places that doesn't cost a ton? All I want is some sand

    Ahoy, Jennifer!

It sounds like you'll be enjoying an Eastern Caribbean sailing aboard Disney Cruise Line very soon! I've visited these islands many times, and they are all breathtaking! When you visit St. Thomas the ship will dock at the Havensight Pier, and you'll find cabs waiting there if you choose to venture out on your own. There are three beaches you may want to research visiting-Sapphire, Coki and Lindquist. None of these are within walking distance so you'll want to budget about $10.00 per person for a one-way trip. You'll also want to budget for chair rental (maybe an umbrella too) and food. There will be restrooms to change at each location. My biggest piece of advice is to leave plenty of time to get back to the ship because you don't want to cut it too close if there is some unexpected traffic on your return. There is only one dock in Tortola so the two places I recommend checking out are Brewers Bay and Cane Garden Bay. Again, you'll want to budget money for the taxi or shuttle, chair rentals and food.

If you decide to let Disney Cruise Line take care of all the details, I would consider booking Secret Sands Beach Getaway in St. Thomas and the Island Drive and Beach Break in Tortola.

Good luck with your plans, Jennifer!
