Ahoy, Isabel!
Welcome aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Isn't it fun to browse all the wonderful activities Disney Cruise Line offers when venturing ashore in the beautiful ports of call? There are so many fabulous adventures to choose from that it is sometimes hard to select what to experience. You'll find that there are several Port Adventures where children of certain ages are not eligible to participate. But, don't worry! Disney Cruise Line is one step ahead with providing their fabulous
youth programming onboard and onshore in Castaway Cay to allow older family members to enjoy excursions with age requirements. If your little one is between the ages of 3-12, he/she can check-in to the Oceaneer Club and Lab while the youngest cruisers can reserve nursery hours at "it's a small world"nursery! Cruisers 13-17 can experience Edge (tweens) and Vibe (teens).
Isabel, I don't think your little one will mind spending time in the youth areas. There's always something fun to do in these spaces, and even lunch is served if your sailor is checked in during mealtime at the Oceaneer Club and Lab or nursery. Breakfast is not offered so you'll want to feed your Mouseketeer before arriving, but you'll be happy to know that the hours of operation are adjusted if you are trying to make an early excursion. Just be sure to let the youth counselors know that you're disembarking during check-in. And if you'll be enjoying a Port Adventure on Disney's private island,
Castaway Cay, Scuttle's Cove offers secured fun for ages 3-12 while the nursery stays open back on the ship.
Thank you for sending in this excellent question, Isabel! Please write back if we can assist you further with your magical plans.
