Hello Kim,
I love when Guests discover Walt Disney World isn't only just about the four theme parks but many extra adventures can be had, such as
fishing. Disney's Port Orleans- Riverside offers some wonderful fishing experiences for Guests.
The first is a Guided Bass Fishing Excursion on the Sassagoula River. Choose from a two or four hour excursion aboard a 21-foot Tracker pontoon boat, which can accommodate five Guests.
All Walt Disney World Resort fishing excursions include:
*An experienced guide
*Rod and reel
*Tackle
*Artificial and/or live bait
*Non-alcoholic beverages (Guests may not bring beverages, food or coolers aboard.)
*One year BASS (Bass Anglers Sportsman Society) membership, which includes 11 issues of Bassmaster Magazine (one membership per excursion) Advanced reservation can be made by calling (407) 939-BASS or (407) 939-2277. Guests can also submit an online
Bass Reservation Request Form and a Cast Member will contact you in 12- 24 hours.
Another fishing option for Guests, at Disney's Port Orleans- Riverside, is Cane-Pole fishing at The Fishin' Hole located on Ol' Man Island. Guests are able to fish from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. but time may vary depending upon the season. Guests are welcome to bring their own cane-poles for casting but are included in the price of your dock time. In the past, for an individual, 30 minutes of fishing cost about $4.00 and includes poles, bait and dock time. Walt Disney World is a catch and release only so have your camera handy for the one that was THIS BIG!
If I can be of any further pixie dusted assistance feel free to ask and may your upcoming stay at Walt Disney World be filled with some Big Fish and memorable and magical moments.
