Hi Stephanie! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so happy that you stopped by.
Stephanie, the Walt Disney World Resort is always thinking of ways to improve the guest experience, including reducing the amount of chlorine in the pools.
Stephanie, none of the pools at the Walt Disney World Resort are considered saltwater pools, in the true sense of the word, meaning that you will not feel like you just stepped out of the ocean. However, many pools are treated with Bromine instead of Chlorine, a chemical which sanitizes just as well, while being a little more mild to most people, and doesn't have that chemical pool smell.
Additionally, the Big Blue Pool at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort and Storm Along Bay at
Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts have installed a saltwater filtration system. This does not mean that the pool is a saltwater pool, but rather these pools utilize a slightly more natural method of chlorination.
Stephanie, Guest Relations, or the lifeguards at your resort, should be able to assist you with narrowing down the exact chemical composition of your pool.
I hope that this helped, Stephanie and please come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if we can help as you plan your magical vacation.
We hope to see ya real soon!
