The pool at AKKV seems like it has more fun to offer than one at BLT-is it worth giving up the convenience of BLT? We've stayed at BLT before but not AKKV, taking my whole family for 1st time and want it to be BEST vacation ever for them! :)) THX!!!

    Hi Kristin,

Thank you for the question and while I hope my answer helps you have the BEST vacation ever!

While I have never stayed at the Animal Kingdom Kidani Village or swam in their pool, I have stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The pools are similar and both are fun. They feel like you are swimming in an African river right down to the brown water. (Trust me it is clean.) The pools have a large zero entry feature which makes it easy to splash and enter the "river". Kidani also offers other wonderful resort recreation such as barbecues, bikes, movies under the stars and animals.

I have stayed at Bay Lake Towers. I loved being right at the Magic Kingdom! We did spend the day at the pool which is small. But we also played bocce ball and shuffle board. If we were there longer, my daughters might have done ceramics as well.

When considering where to stay keep in mine where you are touring and the ages of your children. If you have little ones in strollers who will need naps or you want downtime and are concentrating on Magic Kingdom, then give up the animals for the convenience of the monorail.

If you have older children or you are touring more of the Walt Disney World Resorts, then go wild and hang with the animals. You will be solely on buses to tour which can be tough with strollers.

I hope this helps you have a magical vacation!
