Aloha Miranda!
Welcome to planDisney! How exciting that your vacation is just around the corner. Time to get ready to relax and enjoy the magic of the
Walt Disney World Resort!
Hakuna Matata, Miranda! It means “no worries,” and you have nothing to worry about here. If you have a confirmation number, you have a room! You will not receive your room number until the day of check-in. Even then, you will only see it pop up once your room is clean and ready for you to occupy it. For standard resort reservations, the official check-in time is after 3 PM, and for
Disney Vacation Club reservations it is after 4 PM. If you are past those times and you still don’t have a room number, you should stop by the front desk who will help determine why there is a delay. On my most recent trip with Disney Vacation Club, my room was delayed to closer to 4:30 as they did a more thorough cleaning due to the pandemic. On your check-out day, you must be out of the room by 11 AM. But imagine if the Guests who were scheduled to get your room had an early arrival flight and started knocking at 10 AM? That would be decidedly not magical! And so, you are not given your room number until it is safe for you to go to that room.
If you’ll be arriving early, I recommend packing a day bag with whatever you’ll need to enjoy the afternoon until your room is ready. I usually pack swimsuits and sunscreen to head to the pool. Then we leave the rest of our suitcases with Bell Services so we can get our vacation started!
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is a great choice, Miranda. My favorite breakfast in the entire world is at the
Kona Cafe. Try the macadamia nut pancakes and press pot of Kona coffee, both are amazing! And for the perfect end to the day, grab a Dole Whip from the
Pineapple Lanai and head to the beach where you’ll have a view of
Happily Ever After over Magic Kingdom, and the
Electrical Water Pageant! Happy packing, Miranda, and rest assured you have a room! Enjoy your vacation to the most magical place on earth!
