What is the policy on cancelling ADR? I'm worried we might be in line for an attraction and not want to get out of line to race across a park. I know cancelling in advance is preferred.. what if we aren't able to do so? Are there consequences?

    Hi Elizabeth!

In general, while cancelling an Advance Dining Reservation is highly recommended, there are not penalties for not doing so, unless it is a meal which required advance payment or a credit card guarantee. For example, Cinderella's Royal Table does have a cancellation policy and if your reservation is not cancelled within the time frame or if you do not show up for it, your credit card will be charged and not refunded.

When you make your reservations, any reservation which requires a credit card to hold it, or which you must purchase tickets in advance, would be ones with cancellation policies. If you make your reservations via phone, the Cast Members will advise you if this is the case. Email confirmations will also list any special cancellation policies.

If you do realize you are going to cancel, even a phone call to 407-WDW-DINE earlier in the day (even 30 minutes!) may spread a little pixie dust on another person's vacation. Maybe a spot will magically appear for them!

Hope you have a wonderful vacation! Enjoy!
