my points expire 3/1/21 do I need to finish my trip by 3/1 or can I start by 3/1?

Welcome Home, Colleen! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with a question about your Disney Vacation Club Membership. I hope you find your Disney Vacation Club Membership as magical as I do, with the ability to stay in the luxurious accommodations of Disney Vacation Club Resorts and the flexibility to use Vacation Points for other Disney Destinations. A Disney Vacation Club Membership truly opens up a whole new world of vacation opportunities!

When booking a vacation using your Vacation Points, it is critical to note your Use Year and the exact date that your Vacation Points will expire. If you have a March Use Year, your new allotment of points will be deposited into your Disney Vacation Club account on March 1, 2021, with your Vacation Points from 2020 Use Year expiring on February 28, 2021. If you have an April Use Year, your 2020 Vacation Points will expire on March 31, 2021. You must have a vacation using your Vacation Points booked and completed before the expiration of your Vacation Points: so if your Vacation Points expire on February 28, 2021, you will need to have all of your points used on days before February 28, 2021. If your Vacation Points expire on March 31, 2021, you will need all of your vacation days booked for dates before March 31, 2021.

I hope that this information helps you book the dates needed to make use of your Vacation Points before they expire. Please stop back by planDisney if we can help answer any more of your vacation questions.
