my points become available in april each year. does that mean I have until april to use banked points?

    Hi David!

Understanding your Use Year, Banking and Borrowing is very important to getting the most out of your Disney Vacation Club Membership. It sounds like you already have the right idea, because you are correct. I find it easiest to explain the rules by using full dates, so here we go!

Vacation Points for 2015 with an April Use Year would have become available for use on April 1, 2015. You have until March 31, 2016, to use those points. Now by using them, I mean that your resort stay would be completed before March 31, 2016, not that you actually call to book with those points by that date.  If you have decided that you will not be using your points before March 31, 2016, you may bank them into the following Use Year. Banking must be completed by the eight month mark. For an April Use Year, that means 2015 points would need to be banked by November 30, 2015. Once they have been banked, they are now able to be used between April 1, 2016, and March 30, 2017. Once points have been banked, they may not be borrowed back into their original Use Year. They also cannot be banked again into a third Use Year.

I hope that helps you, David! We have banked and borrowed points on several occasions, and I love the flexibility it offers us when planning our vacations. Let me know if you have additional questions that I can help you with.

    Wishing you Membership Magic!
