I am going to PO next week with DM and DD7 and DD10. They do not have a clue we are going. We are thinking of surprising them on the drive down. Any good suggestions how to break it to them?

Hi, Laura!  I love surprising little ones with the news that they are headed to Walt Disney World!  It's so much fun to see the look on their faces when they realize where they are going!

One thing I have done for my daughters is print out a pretend newspaper.  I filled a couple of pages with photos from Walt Disney World and made up news articles - things like "Stitch seen dancing the night away at the Magic Kingdom".  I built them up a little bit, mentioned some of the restaurants with articles like "Hot Dog that's a Good Hot Dog!" to talk about Casey's Corner, and wrote about how amazing the fireworks and parades are.

Buried among the articles and pictures on the last page, I did an article with the headline, "The 'S' Kids React To the News that They are Going to Disney World!".  When my then seven year old read that to my then three year old, the looks were priceless!

Another thing I've done is tell them we were going to pick someone up at the airport, then have them board the plane to Orlando - that was a good one!  I have also done a game on the road where they got clues every 100 miles and they had to figure out where we were going.  I haven't been able to do this one in a while, as they know the route now almost as well as they know how to get home from school!

I hope you get a wonderful picture of the looks on your daughters' faces when they finally understand they are going to Disney World!  Have a GREAT vacation!
