Can you please tell me if there are any large events planned at WDW between January 8-14, 2023 (i.e. Run Disney)?

Hey there! Hi there! Ho there, Denise! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney! Thanks for stopping by.

With an average high of 72 degrees, January at Walt Disney World Resort is delightful, especially after the holiday crowds clear out. The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend takes place on January 4-8, 2023; however, the participants typically spend less time in the theme parks and won't affect the crowd levels much. Depending on the location of your accommodations, you may be impacted by road closures on the morning of the Marathon on January 8. Walt Disney World transportation still operates but will need to be rerouted to avoid the race course, which usually goes through all four theme parks. By the early afternoon, this won't even be an issue. Most racers will pack up their running shoes and head home on Monday or Tuesday.

Walt Disney World Resort is known for its delicious dining, but the restaurants can book up quickly, even during less crowded times like January. Dining reservations can be made online up to 60 days in advance. It was announced yesterday that Winnie the Pooh and his friends are returning to breakfast at The Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom Park! If anyone in your traveling party is a fan of character meals, the buffet here will start your day off right. I have a "Rumbly in My Tumbly" just thinking about Pooh's famous Puffed French Toast!

Have a magical time, Denise! If you have any more questions, you know where to find us!

Meet the Panelist: Eean, Pennsylvania

Hi, I'm Eean from Pennsylvania! I may have an unusual name, but my passion for Disney is not unique. It's incredible how many people you can find who love talking about "The Most Magical Place On Earth!" I'm that mom who always has her ears perked at PTO meetings, in the grocery store aisle, or at my monthly Bunco club for an opportunity to give someone a planning tip to help make their vacation even more magical.
