    can you please tell me the best way to get to boardwalk for a character breakfast. We are staying in the contempory and will take the monorail into epcot, is it walking distance while in epcot? Is this the best way to go?

    Your plan to monorail from Disney's Contemporary Resort to Epcot, and then walk through to Disney's BoardWalk is likely your best option. 

    The walking distance from the Monorail station at Epcot, through the park, and around to Disney's BoardWalk is just about exactly 1 mile. So for most people at a moderate pace it would take about 15 minutes to walk the distance. It is what I would do. 

    However, I do like to spell out alternatives, especially if you have someone for whom 1 mile may be too far to walk. The next best options would be to take a bus from your resort to Disney's Hollywood Studios, and then either take a boat to the dock at Disney's BoardWalk or take the Disney Skyliner to the Epcot International Gateway station followed by a short 1/3 mile walk. These two trip options could take longer, since you are likely to have to wait for a bus.
