Hiya, Michael! Thanks for stopping by planDisney today. I hope you're having the most magical time on your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. You must be, since you'd like to extend your stay! Believe me, I know that feeling all too well; leaving Disney is always bittersweet.
Checkout time is typically 11:00 AM at Disney Resort Hotels, but if you need another hour or so, you can stop by the front desk at
Disney's Contemporary Resort to request an extension. I've also called from my resort phone, but please know that while they will do their best to accommodate you, they might not be able to extend your checkout time.
When I called from my Cabin at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, the Cast Member did some digging but couldn't add any time to my checkout. So I'll share what my family did instead.
We dropped our luggage with
Bell Services, snapped a quick photo of our claim ticket in case we misplaced it, and headed to
Disney Springs. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at
Frontera Cocina and shopped until it was time to head back to pick up our bags and catch our flight. It was a relaxing day, and we were still in the Disney bubble.
You can also enjoy the pool and other amenities at your resort, even after you check out. Most resorts offer showers near the pool area so you can freshen up before going home.
