Please Help! What will happen if I check into ADR with 1+ guest? My mother decided to join us last minute. Will they turn us away or seat us? This will make or break our vacation. If our ADRs cant get us in I feel like our vacation will be ruined.

This situation has happened to me many times. If a larger group shows up at a restaurant that the number on ther reservation, the Disney cast members try hard to work you in when they can. This is usually (but not always) possible depending on the crowd levels.

Some types of party size changes are easier to deal with than others. For example, if you are a group of five and you want to add a sixth person, this does not really impact the restaurant much. The reason this is an easy change is that most tables are meant to accommodate an even number of people. So, a party of five would have already have a table that could seat six allotted to them. (Hope this makes sense). But if you have a party of four and you want to add another person, the restaurant is now going to have to find a larger table for your group than the one that they had originally planned. In this case, you'll probably end up waiting longer to be seated. Also in my experience, the larger the restaurant, the more luck you are going to have tinkering with your reservation. For example, Chef Mickey's is a huge venue. On any given night there will be lots of people needing to change things and they have a bit of wiggle room to move things around. A smaller restaurant will have fewer options to change things.
