Please give thoughts on Hoop de Doo and Garden Grill. 7 people, kids 12,12,9,4. Both expensive. If paying out of pocket at GG do the 12 year olds have to pay as Adult? They aren't huge eaters. Figuring 7% tax, 18% tip. Please advise. Thanks.

    Hi Barbara!

I can definitely understand your need to budget your Walt Disney Dining experiences and ensure that your entire party will enjoy the experience.

We dined at Hoop Dee Do Revue during our last visit and our entire family had an amazing time. I had heard great reviews online, so we decided to check it out. We also paid out of pocket for the experience, as we didn't have the Disney Dining Plan for that trip, and I felt it was well worth the money. The kids loved the show, even my 11 year old. They were singing and clapping along to the music and had a great time. My kids and hubby loved the food, especially the fact that it was all-you-care-to-eat. However, I wasn't a big fan, as it was fried chicken, strawberry shortcake and mashed potatoes. I felt like there wasn't a lot of variety to choose from, so I wasn't thrilled with the food selection. However, the entertainment made up for it!

The food and experience at Garden Grill is great! Garden Grill offers a character dining experience with Chip and Dale and the food is great. You can choose from a variety of options on the all-you-care-to-eat menu, including sustainable fish, salad and fresh veggies.

Yes, 12-year olds are considered an adult on the Disney Dining Plan, so they will need to order off of the adult menu.

I hope you have a magical vacation!

    Magically,
    Stacy
