Welcome aboard, Tracey!
How wonderful that you'll be receiving an onboard credit when you sail. Onboard credits are special promotions that some travel agents offer for guests on particular sailings, so it sounds like your travel agent must have offered this to you when you booked. Another way to receive an onboard credit is to book your next Disney Cruise Line vacation while you're on one of Disney's ships, as it comes with some special perks like reduced deposits, discounts, and an onboard credit for the next sailing. An onboard credit is simply a certain amount of money applied toward your balance on your stateroom account for purchases on the ship. When you arrive, if you have a $300 onboard credit, that means that any of the fun extras you charge to your stateroom will be deducted from that $300. Think of it as a free $300 to spend onboard! Of course, if you spend more than that $300 you have in credits, they'll simply charge any additional charges to your credit card on file at the end of your sailing.
Port Adventures,
Adult Exclusive Dining, alcoholic beverages,
Spa Treatments,
Gift Shop purchases, and anything else that would be charged to your stateroom can be paid for with this onboard credit. In fact, even the
traditional gratuities paid at the end of the sailing can come from this onboard credit.
Believe me, you'll have plenty of ways to spend that credit, Tracey! Have fun as you prepare to set sail and enjoy every moment of your magical cruise!
