Can you please advise me the best place to stay for my Disney run in January

    Hi Carol!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Congratulations on signing up for a race during the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend! I'll be there too participating in the Dopey Challenge!

Walt Disney World has an option to fit every budget, so this is the first thing to consider. If you are looking for a place to relax and take in a little luxury, then you are probably interested in a Deluxe Resort. If you aren't super interested in extra amenities, a Value Resort would probably suit your needs! The Moderate Resort category will fall just in the middle of this.

If you are interested in potentially staying at a Deluxe Resort, my first recommendation is to stay on the monorail line if you are running the half or full marathon distance. Historically for these races, the monorail is open to transport runners to the start and I honestly don't think the convenience of that can be beat. This would include Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort or Disney's Contemporary Resort.

The great thing about staying at any of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels for a runDisney weekend is that all race weekend transportation is provided, so you really can't go wrong! I'd figure out which category works best for your budget then look at the theming of each and pick out a top three. If you are still overwhelmed once you have chosen your category, please feel free to come back and I can give you specific recommendations for each. Once you have it narrowed down, I'd give runDisney a call at 407-939-iRun and you can book your room!
