Hey there, Whitney!
Welcome back to planDisney. You've made two great choices for dining locations on your upcoming visit. My family loved the twinkling ambiance of
Blue Bayou Restaurant when we dined there a few years back, and the menu options at
Plaza Inn are definitely Disneyland Park staples. I'm happy to dish out all the details as you prepare for your visit.
Dining reservations can be made 60 days in advance and are always recommended, particularly during busy travel periods like Spring Break. “Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park” is the only
Character Dining option currently available in the parks and reservations tend to fill up quickly as you can imagine. Blue Bayou Restaurant is another very popular spot. While table sizes vary from venue to venue, I was able to find availability for a party of 10 when searching for
Plaza Inn Dining Packages. You won't have Characters at this experience, but it appears that larger tables are still available to reserve though not necessarily open on all dates or during all meal periods.
I'm not sure of your party size but I found availability for brunch at
River Belle Terrace and breakfast, lunch and dinner at
Carnation Cafe for parties of 10 around your travel dates. If you still have your heart set on Blue Bayou Restaurant and Plaza Inn, I'd recommend securing a few reservations for smaller parties around the same time and requesting to be seated together when you arrive for your meal. You may need to wait a bit longer and I can't guarantee that Cast Members will be able to seat your groups nearby, but it never hurts to ask.
Remember, dining reservations can be canceled at most locations up until 2 hours prior so it's always possible you'll find last-minute availability. I just found a few openings at
Carthay Circle Restaurant and
Lamplight Lounge later today, which are both usually hard to come by. It's worth it to keep checking even once you've arrived.
I hope this helps Whitney! Please come back and see us again with more questions.
Magic and memories,
Amy
