We are playing a trip to WDW in mid May. We wanted to stay at Disney Beach Club but there are no rooms available. Would staying at the Yacht Club be comparable? We are a family of four with children aged 8 and 12.

Hi Jennifer! Take my word for it: your family would love the Yacht Club! My family has stayed at both the Beach Club and the Yacht Club resorts, and they are very comparable. The resorts are located right next to each other and share the awesome Stormalong Bay pool. You can easily walk from one resort to the other, so staying at one of them is like staying at both of them. The Beach Club is a tad closer to Epcot but the Yacht Club is closer to the boat dock for transportation to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The main difference between the resorts is the theming and decor. The Beach Club has a cheery, casual feel, while the Yacht Club seems a bit more elegant and refined. Before I stayed at either of them, I thought the Beach Club looked more bright and kid-friendly, but now that we've tried both, my family prefers the Yacht Club a bit more than the Beach Club. One advantage of the Yacht Club is that almost every room has a full-sized balcony, while only some rooms at the Beach Club do. My children are about the same ages as yours, and they love Stormalong Bay. This huge pool has a lazy river, a whirlpool, a sandy beach area and a giant slide, and there are lots of fun poolside activities for kids such as games, crafts and line-dancing. You really can't go wrong with the Yacht Club!

Have a magical vacation this May! Come visit me again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions! I'm happy to help!
