Hiya Meridith,
Thanks for stopping back at planDisney. Isn't it amazing how much energy little ones have even after a full day at the theme park? If only we could bottle all the "wiggliness" to help us recharge too.
You will be happy to hEAR there are a number of options for your prince and princesses to burn off some energy after practicing their best
Walt Disney World Resort line standing behavior. First, a number of
Disney Resorts Collection hotels have playgrounds adjacent to their swimming pool area. These are great places for the kids to play and release some energy. If you are at a resort without a playground, or prefer more space, all resorts have open grass or sand areas where kids (big or little) can run around, play catch, turn cartwheels or whatever else they need to do.
If you happen to be at a theme park and are not quite ready to head to your resort for some free time, there is a small play area located near Dumbo and The Winnie the Pooh ride at Magic Kingdom. Kids can also enjoy the Boneyard play area at Disney's Animal Kingdom. EPCOT features a children's play area that is often themed to match any festival underway.
Another great option is to head towards the corners of the theme parks. There is typically a little more room in these areas, with less attractions and crowds. We often set up camp in one of these spots and let the kids hop, skip and jump as much as they wanted. Another tip is I would carry a light blanket in my bag - it was perfect for us to set up out of the way of other Guests and have a light snack or play for a little bit. Small games like memory cards or Go Fish are easy to carry and great for a break from waiting in lines.
I hope these ideas and locations help them get the wiggles out. If I can help with any additional questions, please stop back and
see me.
T-T-F-N (Ta-Ta for now),
Margaret
