We have platinum season passes and were wondering when the expiration date is set -- is it when we make a reservation to come to the parks or when we make a reservation and the date arrives and we use the tickets?

Hi there, Nicole! Welcome to the wonderful world of planDisney! Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out and asking an excellent Walt Disney World Resort vacation question!

First of all, I would like to welcome you to the Walt Disney World Passholder family! Guests that choose to join this very exclusive club not only gain entry into the four theme parks but can look forward to a variety of perks as well! This includes discounts on such items as dining, merchandise, events, recreation, Disney Resort hotel rooms, and much more. Additionally, you will have access to Passholder Extras that can range from limited-time offers to special events throughout the year!

The expiration date for Annual Passes will be one year from the day you activate your passes! This means, if you visit Walt Disney World Resort on May 1st, 2021, and activate your Annual Passes on this day, they will be good until the end of the day on May 1st, 2022. Annual Passes may be activated at any Guest Relations location on the property. All you will need to do is present your Annual Pass purchase vouchers as well as a government-issued ID so the Cast Member Assisting you can verify your identity. You will then be given your very own Annual Passholder card that can be used to scan into the theme parks as well as use your super sweet discount options!

As you mentioned in your question, it is also very important for Guests to make their theme park reservations in advance through the Disney Park Pass system! Availability is subject to each theme park’s capacity limits so it is highly recommended that you check the Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar as you continue to plan for your trip!

I hope you have a phenomenal year as a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder! Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you as well!
