Ahoy there, David! Welcome back to planDisney! I’m so glad you cruised our way again.
Congratulations on your
Platinum Castaway Club status! What an incredible milestone. With this level of loyalty, you’ll receive some truly special perks, like booking new itineraries three days before the general public, securing cruise activities up to 120 days before sailing, and completing online check-in as early as 38 days in advance. But one of the most exciting benefits is the complimentary dinner at
Palo,
Palo Steakhouse, or
Palo Trattoria.
Disney Cruise Line’s official policy is that this
complimentary meal benefit applies only to dinner, not brunch. However, my advice is to stop by Palo once you’re onboard and chat with the dining room manager. When I sailed on the Disney Magic this summer, the Palo manager was seated in the Soul Cat Lounge on embarkation day and was incredibly helpful in arranging reservations. It never hurts to ask if they can apply your Platinum benefit to brunch instead. The worst they can say is no, so I’d recommend holding onto a dinner reservation as a backup, just in case.
While I’ve experienced Palo Brunch myself several times (and it’s incredible), I’ve also had the pleasure of dining there for dinner once, and I’m still dreaming about that Amaretto Soufflé...it’s divine! My other favorite dish is the Dover Sole, perfectly prepared tableside. For dinner, Platinum Guests may use their complimentary benefit for either the prix fixe menu, which includes an appetizer, entrée, and dessert, or as a credit (currently $55 per person, though prices are subject to change) equivalent to the prix fixe price toward à la carte selections. Just note that Guests are responsible for any amount exceeding the prix fixe value, along with applicable gratuities.
I hope this helps clear things up, David! Whether you enjoy brunch or dinner at Palo, you’re in for an unforgettable meal.
Sea ya real soon,
Eean
