If I plan to come to the park on June 19th and 20th, can I do my start date on June 17th but not use my tickets until the 19th and 20th? It’s a tad cheaper doing it that way but don’t want to mess up just to save a few dollars.

Hey Howdy Hey Ashton and welcome to planDisney!

How exciting it is knowing your trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth is just around the corner. Thank you for stopping by with your question about the planning strategy for purchasing your Theme Park Tickets. I will be happy to give you some recommendations when making this purchase.

When it comes to making reservations to visit the Walt Disney World Resort you essentially have two options. You can book your reservation at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel and Theme Park Tickets in a package or individually. I would price out both so you know which option works best, but let's review some of the details.

If you were to book a vacation package, this does include your tickets. Your ticket usage date will begin on the day of your check-in at the resort. Your tickets will be valid for 4 days after the initial start date, so based on your timeline, you should be able to use your tickets within the 4-day validation period. Vacation packages are typically cheaper than purchasing individually but definitely check to make sure!

Purchasing your Disney Resorts Collection hotel and theme park tickets separately will give you more freedom regarding use dates. You can solidify your resort and then your tickets with the activation date when you want them to start and flexibility in the 4 days after to use them.

Nothing compares to the feeling of booking your Magical vacation but saving a few dollars always helps. Make sure to visit the Special Offers page to see if your plans may qualify for any of the current promotions.

I hope this information is helpful so you can better plan for your upcoming trip. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach back out and let us know, we are always happy to help!

    Have a Magical day,
