Hello Caroline!
Welcome back again to planDisney! The Disability Access Service or DAS has undergone some changes in the past week. I'm not sure if you've heard all the news but it now requires a video chat for all people who wish to register for DAS. However, international guests will have to wait until they arrive in the United States to have that video chat conversation. For various reasons, this video chat conversation cannot occur with guests while they are outside of the country. Once you arrive,
head to this link and begin the registration process. You can register starting 30 days out from your park visit. If you continue to have issues even after arriving you can visit any
Guest Relations in the Parks where you will be assisted in connecting to the video chat.
There are quite a few services available for guests with disabilities other than DAS for when you are in the parks or even in your
Disney Resort Hotel. One of the ones I use often with my family is Rider Switch. Rider Switch is not just for kids but for anyone unable to ride an attraction. My older son gets very anxious about certain ride situations and we use
Rider Switch to let my husband and I enjoy the ride with his sister. My husband and daughter enjoy the attraction while waiting on the standby line while I wait with my son. I then enjoy the ride with my daughter while my husband waits with my son. It helps keep everyone happy and less stressed.
I hope that this helps and you have a magical time!
Happy Planning!
