Planning a wknd trip to WDW, but looking to experience Disney without any theme park days. Filling the day with pool time & activities as a fun filled but more relaxing trip. Looking for suggestions on low to no cost options. (i.e. mini golf, etc...)

    Hi, Deana!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I love that you are planning a fun, laid-back weekend trip to Walt Disney World! You actually mentioned one of my favorite things to do outside of the theme parks - miniature golf! There are two mini-golf locations on Disney property: Fantasia Gardens and Fairways and Winter Summerland.

Since you won't be visiting the theme parks this trip, a great place to spend your leisure time is in the Downtown Disney area. You can browse through the many interesting shops (including the vast World of Disney store), rise 400 feet in the air in a huge tethered hot air balloon with Characters in Flight, enjoy bowling at Splitsville Luxury Lanes or dinner and a movie at the AMC Fork & Screen Dine-In Theatres. There are wonderful street performers who entertain visitors.

I've also got a fun, no-cost activity for you: resort hopping around the Walt Disney World property! I suggest visiting the Polynesian, Animal Kingdom Lodge and Art of Animation resorts for the amazing decor and atmosphere, animal viewing on the savanna, and larger-than-life icons from some of your favorite movies. Many Walt Disney World resort hotels offer complimentary evening campfires and movies under the stars. Check the schedule at the resort's registration desk. Another suggestion is to check out the boardwalk area adjacent to Epcot. A fun activity is renting a surrey bike and cruising around Crescent Lake.

Wishing you a magical vacation, Deana! Please send me any follow-up questions directly if I can provide more information on any of these activities.
