Planning on going to WDW in 1 1/2 yrs. Would like to give park hopper tickets for Christmas this year. Am I correct in assuming they would not expire until we began to actually use them?

Hmmm, sounds like someone's been very "nice" all year long!

You are correct, the tickets won't expire. They will be valid for as long as you want to keep them.  The "expiration clock" only starts ticking once you use the ticket on the first day -- then the tickets will expire 14 days after the first day they are used (unless you purchase the no expiration option).

So, it looks like your early Christmas shopping is off to a good start!! ;-)
