We are planning a WDW vacation last week May 2012 for 8 days/9 nights with 7day park hopper and water parks. Having a difficult time deciding which moderate resort to stay at. Leaning towards Caribbean, but concerned about transportation. Is it that bad

Hi, Laura!  The thing I love best about the Caribbean Beach Resort is that you really feel transported to an island paradise.  The landscaping is lush and thick, and you have enough of a walk from the parking lot to feel like you have left the hustle and bustle of the mainland behind and have reached an island destination.

There is a give and take in everything, and this huge resort does have some transportation concerns for many guests who have never been.  My best advice is to request a room location close to a bus stop, so at least walking back to your resort room at the end is a little bit easier.  You can also walk to an earlier bus stop in the mornings if you are concerned about buses being too crowded by the time they loop around to your part of the resort.

I will say, buses run quite often here, and if you aren't planning to return to your resort often during the day, you really only have to worry about buses going out in the morning and coming back in the evening.  The pool area alone may make up for any transportation inconveniences!
