Welcome back to planDisney, Linda!
When my family travels, we have two little ones in car seats and we often have one or two members of our party in an ECV, as well. At the end of a long day, the Minnie Van was a lifesaver since our party could not use a typical ride share service.
We have not heard anything about the return of Minnie Vans, but I am happy to offer up my experience traveling without them. Hopefully it will help.
First, picking a
Walt Disney World Resort hotel with the most
transportation options is the best thing that you can do to reduce your commute times to and from the parks. Try to pick a resort where you can take the
Disney Skyliner, boat, or monorail transportation.
You may even want to consider a split stay. On our last trip my family stayed on the
Disney BoardWalk so that we could walk (or hop on a boat) to Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT before moving to a Magic Kingdom resort where we could
take the monorail or another boat. Disney makes a split stay so easy, as they transfer our luggage for us while we play the day away in the park.
If you are planning to visit another fabulous resort for a meal, you can also call Mears Transportation and set up an ECV-friendly taxi ahead of time. While I have not taken advantage of a taxi service yet, I imagine that I will on our next trip.
Linda, while
bus transportation can be a bit of a headache during the most crowded times, remember that ECVs load two per bus, and they generally board first. Depending on how many ECVs are in line, this could actually help you get back to your resort quicker!
Happy Planning!
