Planning our 1st WDW trip for 2013. We were thinking about the week of Feb 23-March 2. Will the Marathon that weekend make it too busy? We also want to go to Typhoon Lagoon. Is it too cold/open? Would the end of April/beginning of May be better? Thanks

Hi Marla! It's wonderful that you are planning your first trip to Walt Disney World! The memories and the moments you will share there will be some of the best ones yet! Both the time periods you've listed occur during peak season at the parks, so crowd levels are expected to be higher in either instance. I will say that Princess half marathon weekend tends to be less crowded than when entering into the summer months. It may also be of note that the April/May weather is more conducive to enjoying the water park. Blizzard Beach will be closed in early January/February, while Typhoon Lagoon will be open. During the winter months, they do keep the pools at a warm 82 degrees. Hope this helps you plan your magical Disney vacation! -Malanie
