Planning a WDW trip for late May or September. It will be me, DH, DS 5, and DD 1. Can't decide between Poly where we stayed in 2010 before DD or WL. Based on young kids, accessibility, ease of transportation, etc., which do you suggest?

Hey Krystal! Thanks for visiting the Mom's Panel! Disney's Polynesian Resort and Disney's Wilderness Lodge are actually two of my favorite Disney Deluxe Resorts and I have enjoyed family vacations at both. Choosing between the two of them is almost like choosing a favorite child!  As you know, Disney's Polynesian Resort is a tropical paradise and features very spacious rooms that are equipped with a coffee maker and mini-refrigerator. Disney's Wilderness Lodge is themed after the Great American Northwest National Park lodges from the turn of the 20th century.  Rooms at the Wilderness Lodge are a bit smaller than that of the Polynesian Resort, but do feature coffee makers and mini-refrigerators as well. Both Disney Resorts afford guests a relaxing, child friendly environment. I would give Disney's Polynesian Resort a slight edge over Disney's Wilderness Lodge due to transportation with your "little one." You will be able to travel to and from Epcot and the Magic Kingdom via Disney's Monorail transportation, which is very convenient for those midday breaks/naps. Another plus to traveling to the parks via monorail is the fact that you will not have to close your stroller. I have traveled on the buses many times with small toddlers and it can be quite challenging to hold the collapsed stroller and a sleeping toddler. From the Wilderness Lodge, guests can take the Motor Launch or the Motor Cruiser (water taxis) to the Magic Kingdom. You do not have to fold your stroller on the Motor Cruiser but we did have to fold our strollers when boarding the Motor Launch (which is a smaller water taxi) in December.  Bus transportation is available from the Wilderness Lodge to the other theme parks. I hope this helps in making your decision. Please let me know if you have any other specific questions about either Resort that I can answer for you! Best wishes for a Magical Trip!
    Happy Planning,
