Welcome to planDisney, Crystal! We are glad you brought your question to us today.
As a mom of 3 college students and one currently in high school, I have been in your shoes. I remember planning our own "last hurrah" -- I recall thinking it could be the last time the six of us might have the opportunity to travel to our favorite place all together.
We are definitely living in a "whole new world" in more ways than one. Who would have imagined eight months ago what our current global situation would be? It is hard to predict just what things might look like several months from now. Your best source for current operational updates is the "
Know Before You Go" page on the
Walt Disney World website that provides general details on Returning to a World of Magic. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you'll see links to more specific "Know Before You Go" information for theme parks,
resort hotels,
dining, and more. For example, on the "
Theme Parks and Tickets" update page, you can select a park and view which attractions, entertainment, and dining and merchandise locations are currently available.
Another great source for official news and information is the
Disney Parks Blog; you can also follow their social media channels. Of course, you are always welcome to visit us at planDisney again as often as you like in the months leading up to your trip. We'll be happy to answer any additional questions you may have.
I completely understand navigating the uncharted waters of a new season of parenthood and the changes it brings to your family. But I will also say I am amazed at the growth and maturity that occurs in just a few short months away at school, and while I will forever miss the small children I once had, I am so proud of the incredible young adults they have become. As a parent of a college student, you get all of the love, none of the nag -- I am not tripping over their shoes or reminding them to clean up their dishes or take their laundry out of the dryer. When we have the opportunity to visit, we simply get to enjoy being
together.
I thought you might like to know that even though it has been several years since my family's "last hurrah", we have managed to sneak in a few more visits to Walt Disney World Resort, and I just booked another -- all six of us :)
Wishing you and your family the most magical vacation, with many more to come.
